1/8 SCALE CHAMPION CLUTCH SHOES

This new clutch shoe design is something that the RC car industry has long neglected to develop to keep up with the caliber of racer that is racing today. Hand cutting clutch shoes to get the right feel for the driver has long been an Art and is only been reserved for the most accomplished racers to give them the edge over the competition. I have tried to give the feel of the clutch to all who were willing to put in the effort to find exactly what they are looking for in stall and acceleration.

The clutch springs are offered in. 9mm, .95mm, 1.0mm, 1.05mm, They are color coated for easy identification.

The theory behind the new design is that in the old style clutch springs, it wraps around the shoe to hold it. In my opinion this constant contact with the shoe heats up The spring from the heat generated from the shoe is transferred to the spring. Long exposure to heat will take the temper out of the spring. Causing it to change the strength of the spring and reducing its effectiveness to operate as it did when it was new. This is especially true when you run a very long main as the guys did at the 1/8 scale nationals. The new spring only contacts the shoe at the very tip of the spring. It is also out of the clutch engagement area to further reduce the risk of heating up.

Our new 4 shoe flywheel is quickly becoming the Standard for the pro circuit.
